Lydia Rose is SEVEN YEARS OLD! I cannot believe our girl is getting so big.
Zootopia Party
We all know Lydie’s love for music runs to her very core. But her favorite jam right now is to the Zootopia soundtrack. She loves it! She is also a big fan of the movies and so Zootopia just HAD to be the party this year.
It was a whole weekend of celebrating our girl (the perk of having your birthday on a Sunday)! We woke up and had a yummy breakfast, little photoshoot, and then went on a walk on the Poudre River Trail before it got too hot.
Then we spent the day in Lydie’s favorite place – HOME! We snuggled and had a Zootopia movie marathon (does it count as a marathon if there are only two?). Sarah and Benjamin even put on a performance for us. It was perfect.
The next day we went to church and then had birthday cake – we did a strawberry lemonade cake which was delicious – and then opened cards and presents. The kids showered her in “love gifts” and all things Bluey (her other favorite thing!).

Our Seven Year Old Girl
What can I say about Lydie that I haven’t said so many times before? She is our little angel girl. She is all things good and wonderful and the world needs a whole lot more Lydie. It is the greatest gift to have her in our family, and she is easily everyone’s favorite.
Lydie loves music. And she likes to listen to her music loud! It is her favorite thing in the world, and we are happy to say that there is music playing in our hours (quite literally) twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
She loves her people. Her siblings are her favorite people in the world. They are so good to play with her and include her. I don’t think it matters what it is, Lydie is just excited to be with them. They love to play board games, dress up and “accessories” their dolls, read stories, and dance in her wheelchair. It’s my favorite.
Lydie is a lifter. She lifts everyone around her. We are so grateful we get to be with her forever. We love that smile and the way her eyes light up when she is happy. She lives her life with a quiet, peaceful joy that is amazing to witness.
Lydie, we hope you know and feel how very, very loved you are.
