WWCC Natural History Museum

The kids were absolute rock stars while Mark and I worked on our painting project. Mark had some PTO he needed to use and so he got an entire week off of work and so I decided to give ourselves a “Fall Break” from school and work on our painting projects.

After painting for four straight days our project was FINISHED and we were all ready to get out of the house and think about something else other than taping and painting.

So we surprised the kids by going on a wee little adventure.

{Have you noticed if you call something an “adventure” that it automatically makes it ten times more exciting?!}

Western Wyoming Community College is here in Rock Springs and we drive by it pretty much any time we go anywhere and we finally went exploring!

Once upon a time dinosaurs were all over southwestern Wyoming. At the WWCC Natural History Museum there are five life-size replicas of the dinosaurs that once roamed around our area.

The kids were in HEAVEN!

The museum is totally free and doesn’t really feel very museum-y. The dinosaurs are in the hallways around the community college and you get to just wander around exploring them.

There are also full walls of stone from the prehistoric age, HUGE fish, HUGE palm leaves, and some reptiles {Benji loved the turtles!}.

It was really the perfect activity. The kids had a blast, it got us out of the house a little bit, but it was also completely low key. It may become a favorite hangout when we just need to get out and go on an ADVENTURE! 😉

    Looks like a blast. My adventures always include ice cream or French fries.
