Valentine’s Day

Our Valentine’s Day was busy, yet lovely. I got up early to make our traditional double chocolate waffles. Lydie and I had to leave early because of her morning therapy schedule that day. BUT the other kiddos had a yummy breakfast ready for them once they got up!

Lydia and I were gone all morning – horse, occupational, and speech therapy were on the menu that morning. Mark was in the middle of a work week and so he had to sleep the day away – but he left us a sweet surprise when we got home – flowers for each of us girls.

I got Lydia settled and then I made a Valentine’s “snunch” for the kids. And then we just had together time. Sarah and I did some watercoloring together. The boys played together. Lydia took a nap. It was my favorite (if only Mark could be with us).

I made our traditional spaghetti and meatballs dinner and we enjoyed just being with each other. Mark had to go to work but the kids and I stayed up and watched The Princess Bride (it’s got everything for everyone 😉).

A couple days later we were finally able to gather the whole family together to exchange our love notes. I love this tradition. And the kids have definitely been the ones who have really pushed to continue it – which I really love. My Mom sent them a sweet Valentine’s package that they each loved, especially getting to make their own Valentine’s boxes.

I love my family so much. They are truly my everything. I feel so very blessed. Happy Valentine’s Day!
