Lydia’s 9th Month

Oh Lydie Lou…how are you nine months already?! Time is flying by with this little girl and yet it feels like she has been ours forever.

Lydia has found her chunk and has plumped up nicely 😉 She is 19 pounds (56%) and is 27 inches in length (31%). She is still in nine month size clothes.

A big change for Lydia this month was her naps. We weaned her off of two mini naps to one big afternoon nap and I LOVE IT! Her and Ben now take their naps at the same time and it is great! Now…if only they didn’t sleep at opposite ends of the house so those of us not sleeping didn’t have to be worried about waking them up! Oh well…

Speaking of sleep, Lydia has improved. She is still getting up at night, but instead of 3-5 times a night, it is usually only once. And sometimes, if we are really good, she will even sleep through the whole night! WOOT!

Lydia got her first tooth this month! It is still slowly making it way up but it has finally cut through and we can’t wait to see her toothy grin!

This girl loves her tubs. She is pretty content most of the time, but you can tell she genuinely loves tub time. She takes her tubs with Ben and he is so good to always give her a “friend” {animal foam stickers – best tub toy ever!} that she can gnaw on and she is happy as can be.

This little one is definitely sinking into some big separation anxiety and stranger danger. If you are in her circle {so that would be Mark, Jacob, Sarah, Benjamin, and me} she is good…anyone else…BAD.

It has really been a struggle. If anyone tries to talk with her {even if we are holding her} she completely loses it {you should see our physical therapy sessions!}. We are hoping she grows out of it soon and can find her happy place with others.

Lydia continues to go to physical therapy every two weeks. This month has kind of been a roller coaster of emotions with that. She started last month in a really-not-so-good place. She really wasn’t making any progress and things were definitely concerning.

She is ending this month with progress but we are waiting to see if she has made enough progress. She is now able to sit independently for three or four minutes and has a lot more control over her body movements. She is also using her hands to hold herself up when she is on her tummy rather than just laying flat.

Next week she has an appointment with her pediatrician and plans will be made as to our next step. This is all really new territory for our little family but we feel so much peace about our little girl’s future.

We love our Lydia.

Keep growing. Keep learning. And always know how very loved you are.
