Lydia’s 5th Month

Time moves way too fast. This little girl is growing up and I definitely have mixed feelings about it.

She is now 14 pounds 4 ounces (40%) and is 24.7 inches (39%) in length. And take a look at those cheeks – I can’t help but kiss those all day every day!

Lydia moved up to six month size clothes and takes a 6 – 7 ounce bottle four to five times a day {we are working on phasing out her last little dream feed bottle!}. She takes two naps during the day, both about two hours long.

This little girl is very slowly starting to discover her voice. She is still so calm and pleasant but she does let out her little squeals now which are just way too adorable.

She is also getting a lot stronger. Lydia started sitting in her bumbo this last month and she seems to really like it most of the time. Her head control has gotten so much better!

This last month Lydia started to get really interested in toys. She is starting to manipulate and move things around more and it is fun to see that new world start to open up to her.

The beginning of this last month was so rough with Lydie and her sleep. She was waking up several times a night and for long stretches each time. Mark and I were exhausted but she didn’t seem any worse for it during the day. Luckily, we are thinking it was just a growth spurt because after a week or so she was back to her sleeping self!

Lydia is finally sleeping through the night consistently! YEA!!!!! We are so happy for ALL of us!

I know I have said it a hundred times {and I hope to say it a thousand more} but Lydia is so pleasant to be around. She really is such a sweetheart. She gives smiles so freely and is so calming for everyone.

One of my favorite Lydia-isms is after I read her a story before her nap/bed. As soon as I start singing, I Am a Child of God, she gets the biggest smile on her face. Every. Single. Time. I love it and I love her so much.

Happy Five Months, baby girl!
