Watercoloring

I have always been a big believer in goals. Goals are powerful. I try to make it a regular occurrence to reflect on my current goals and make more goals. The last several months I have begun to sit down with Jacob periodically to talk about HIS goals.

It’s been a wonderful thing. I love letting him take the lead. And he has surprised me with some of his interests. He started a pretty ‘mammoth-sized’ project – remember his Book of Mormon Storybook – and we are still working on that.

But I also explained to him that it is totally okay to have more than one goal at a time. We don’t want to overwhelm ourselves but it is okay to desire and work towards more than one thing at a time. So while we continue to work on his Book of Mormon Storybook, he decided he wanted to learn how to watercolor.

This has been an amazing skill for us to learn together. I began watercoloring in April and I think it sparked a desire for Jacob. Whenever I sit down to watercolor he is always so eager to participate.

Even though I sometimes wish to have some “me time” I try and remember that it is good to share our passions and it has been wonderful doing something together and find joy in it with one another.

I am proud of Jacob for making a goal and sticking with it. He practices watercoloring frequently and has learned that it is something he enjoys. Keep on going, buddy!

Sounds wonderful, fun, amazing and just great. I always enjoyed coloring and painting I even took classes when the children where young. But then everything just got too busy for me. I would always love seeing what you both have painted, etc. Keep smiling and happy as you continue on your path of painting, etc. Love you all.
