Jacob and Sarah have absolutely SOARED in piano the last several months. Someone is playing the piano most of the time during the day. It has become something they do in their free time – not just during “practice” and it makes my heart so happy.
Jacob in particular has just shocked and amazed me. Piano has not come easily for him. Mark actually suggested that I stop teaching him more than once – because there were a lot of lessons that ended in one or both of us crying. I questioned about sharing that, but I do because I want to remember that we pushed through the hard – BOTH OF US! I remember praying together about whether or not we should continue. And each time, Jacob and I both felt like, let’s make it through another unit. And then we would do another. And before we knew it, we didn’t have to wonder if we should be continuing anymore. Jacob is so driven with his piano and has big goals for himself now. I am so thrilled for him and very proud of all the work he has put in.
Sarah has always enjoyed playing. She is always trying to go ahead and push herself to do more. She is moving forward beautifully and I love to hear her play.
They each performed two songs for our spring recital. Jacob performed “The Horseman’s Night Ride” and “Happy Red”. Sarah performed “The Crazy Clown” and a duet with Jacob entitled, “Bluebird On My Shoulder”.
And YAY that I finally got videos to work on the blog!
