Lydia Rose

⭐ Lydia Appreciation Post ⭐

I’ve been trying to reflect on what I can write about Lydia that is perhaps “new”, and I am not coming up with much.  But then it got me thinking, Lydie loves her routines.  I wish I could talk to her to know, but I think (or at least I hope) she loves her life.  She is happy in her day-to-day and I love that for her.

Lydie’s love for music continues!  I love watching her eyes light up when “her music” begins to play.

I can’t write about Lydie and not mention her extraordinary patience.  She is so good to all of us.  She is patient with our wants and desires, even though I know she would rather be home in her space.

Another trait that just amazes me in Lydie is her perseverance.  The changes we had with church this summer were hard on Lydia.  For weeks afterward, she wouldn’t go to Primary on her own and I felt her agitation.  It’s been a struggle for me to watch, and I have seen why it has been hard for her, when sometimes others are not kind.  But over time she has decided to stay, even though it is hard.  I am proud of her for that.  But I also hope and pray for a gentler world for her.

With that said, Lydie makes friends easily.  Whenever I think of our visit to Independence, Missouri, I will think of that sweet tour group from Maui who just loved her.  Who instantly became her friend, included her, and saw her as the sweet angel that she is.

We love you, sweet girl.
