Ice Skating

Winter Bucket List ✔

I cannot remember if I wrote about this – but when we were celebrating the winter solstice in December our family made a Winter Bucket List. We have never done this before but we are LOVING it! We each picked one thing we wanted to do this winter. It has been so much fun and fills out bucket with good, family time.

Last week we checked an item off our list and went ICE SKATING! Now, the Berning bunch are never going to be winning any sort of prizes ice skating. The vast majority of the time is spent clinging to the wall or on the ground – BUT, the kids still seem to really enjoy it and that’s what matters.

It will never stop being funny to watch Benjamin’s determined face that he gets while ice skating. He gets in a zone and is so focused on figuring it out. He and Sarah were holding hands for a little bit as they went around and it made my mama heart happy. Jacob, sadly, takes after me and is more of a hold-tight-to-the-side-of-the-wall type of ice skater. But he still went around several times while Lydie and I watched from the side.

Luckily, Mark is great at ice skating (he is our children’s only hope for athletic abilities) and helped them each around as they figured it out. So grateful for family time.
