Father’s Day

“You have a serious responsibility to assume leadership in working with your children. You must help create a home where the Spirit of the Lord can abide…

You homes should be havens of peace and joy for your family. A father’s duty is to make his home a place of happiness and joy…The powerful effect of righteous fathers in setting an example, disciplining and training, nurturing and loving is vital to the spiritual welfare of [their] children.”

-Ezra Taft Benson –

Mark is an amazing dad. He really and truly is. And he always has been. But this last year, there has been a change and it has been incredible to see. I really debated about writing this because I don’t want it to be misunderstood, but Mark has taken his role as a Dad the last year to new heights. He is so thoughtful about what he does with the kids, is silly, patient, kind, and just amazing. I am so grateful for him. This last year especially, he has been such a strong foundation for all of us to fall back on. These kids are so lucky. And everyone is “SO GLAD when Daddy’s comes home.”

And I can’t let the opportunity pass to express my appreciation for my own Dad. I have always considered myself a Daddy’s girl and am so grateful for him. He is always “checking in” on me and makes sure to ask me how I am doing. He has always supported me throughout my life and continues to do that – as well as my family. I love him and am so grateful for who he is and all that he has taught me.

Happy Father’s Day to the many good men in this world. I have been truly blessed to be surrounded with some of the very best.
