Denver Zoo

Sarah’s pose in this picture makes me chuckle every time I look at it!

This day was wonderful. We left Granby in the morning and made the drive over to Denver. The weather couldn’t have been better. It was cool and the sun was out. We grabbed some lunch and had a picnic in the City Park.

This was my favorite moment of our entire trip. It was full of pure joy. I had a moment where I was watching the boys chase each other and dance in the grass while watching squirrels with Mark, while I sat on the blanket with the girls, talking with Sarah and listening to Lydia’s giggles. It was a moment I just wanted to freeze in time. It was perfect and simple.

After lunch, we went to the Denver Zoo. This was definitely the highlight for the kids! I honestly do not think I can say how much these kids LOVE animals. It was so much fun being back in Denver with the children. And it was amazing to go back to these places that Mark and I used to take our little babes way back when, now as big kids!

This zoo is amazing – and BIG! Some of the kiddos favorite animals were the African Penguin, Flamingos, Black Rhinoceros, Aye-Aye, California Sea Lions, Komodo Dragon, Linne’s Two-Toed Sloth, River Hippopotamus, and Spotted Hyena. We were there until it closed and we enjoyed every single minute!
