Our final day of Camp de Vida 2026!
We started things off with our morning devotional. Today we studied The Living Christ and it was so beautiful. Then we went and visited the Weld County Veterans Memorial. We have driven by this so many times but never stopped and I am so glad we did. It is truly an amazing space to honor our veterans.
I think it was really impactful to read about the wars and see actual names listed under them. It was a meaningful moment.
We then went back home and talked about how to make a phone call. It sounds so silly, but kiddos today just don’t HAVE to do that anymore. I remember learning really young how to answer the phone and take a message. And then if you ever wanted to play with a friend, YOU called them and figured it out.
So it was fun to role play what you do to make an appointment or other such things.
We did a couple more manners talks like how important it is to celebrate others.
We then had the whole rest of the afternoon off, but we gathered together at the end of the night to have our tin foil dinners and talk about our camp and some of our favorite things we did together. Mark and I also shared our testimonies about Christ and how we hope our children will choose Him and choose to REJOICE in Christ. And then we presented the kiddos with their badges from camp – it is a highlight!
We ended snuggled up on the couch for a movie night – complete with face masks! The kids were all WAY too embarrassed to have their pictures taken so you get this freaky one 😉 Also, Lydie was NOT a fan of the masks at all – all of her people all of a sudden did not look right and it took her a while to be okay with it.
