We had such a wonderful weekend with the Berning crew!
We left the Clegg Family Reunion in Island Park and wound our way down to Utah.
Grace Cemetery
Our first stop was at the Grace Cemetery. I love this beautiful, peaceful place. I could spend hours and hours here. My Dad’s side of the family is so prevalent here. We said hi to Great Grandpa and Grandma Panter and Great Grandpa and Grandma Clegg. It was especially sweet to visit with my Grandpa Clegg – geez, I miss him.
I am grateful for my sweet kiddos (and Mark!) who are so patient with me as I love to walk cemeteries.
Grandma Dixie
And then we got to visit with this sweet lady that we love so much – Grandma Dixie! It had been way too long since we had visited with her and it was just what my heart needed. We wish we lived closer, Grandma.
Georgetown
And we can’t pass by Georgetown without stopping and visiting Mark’s old family home. I cannot tell you how much I wish I could see the inside. It was fun to see the new greenhouse that they’ve added since last we saw it.
Old Friends
Last year, one of Mark’s childhood friends passed away from cancer. It was sweet to listen to stories about the two of them – and we learned a little bit more about Kris’ humor 😉
Montpelier Temple
Then we finally saw our first glimpse of the Montpelier Temple! It is still so wild to us that it is happening. I cannot wait for it to be done and to make our own pilgrimage to see it completed. Even seeing it in real life didn’t seem real! I cannot believe this special community is getting a temple of their very own. I am so happy for them.
Shenanigans with Grandpa and Grandma
Then we made our way over to Preston and Cache Valley and finally made it to North Ogden to stay with Mark’s parents. It was so lovely to see them.
The kids took about 2.4 second before they rushed to put on ALL the dress ups. The next day, we ended up having to take Lydia to urgent care in the morning (no worries – all is well – for the first time ever she rolled in her sleep and fell off a bed and we wanted to make sure everything was a-okay!).
Then we went to the theater (I have no idea how many years it has been since I’ve been to the theater – when did the recliner, cushion-y seats become a thing?!!!).
And then we got to celebrate Grandma’s birthday. We were very happy we could be there to celebrate her.
We went to church with them and then went and visited Grant and Kristen and their family in Kaysville. It was so good to see them (and Andrea, Grace, Landon, and little Ava!).
