Valentine’s Day

I love holidays. And I love making them special for my little family. Each holiday feels full of tradition and I love that about them.

We started the day with our double chocolate waffles which were so delicious! We had a slow morning and then got to work making some love notes to share with others. We drove around and listened to love songs and tried our best to be sneaky little love elfs. I love celebrating Valentine’s in that way and we hope we helped others feel loved.

Then Mark gave me the best gift he could give (just kidding, but also, it was lovely) and I laid Lydie down for a nap and he took the rest of the kiddos with him to Costco and some other errands. It was really nice to have a couple hours of quiet. I know one day I will miss the noise – and I wouldn’t want more than a couple hours of it now anyway – but it was nice.

Dinner was thwarted by several things, but it all worked out and it was a special night. Sarah helped me make the cheesecake this year and it was so yummy. We shared our love notes we wrote earlier in the week to one another and that is easily my favorite part of the day. I love seeing every one interact after reading their notes. Fills my cup in the best way. Then we snuggled up and watched “the real” Beauty and the Beast. Pretty perfect day.
