We all agreed that it felt like it had been a LONG time since we had gone down to the Denver Nature and Science museum (I checked – it’s been since August!). So we were happy to go back! And we were all really excited for this new exhibit all about elephants! How can you not just adore elephants?! They are definitely in my top three favorite animals.

We learned amazing things like how elephants “hear” with their feet! And what animals are their closest-living relatives. And how humans and elephants have lived together over thousands of years. It was such a great exhibit – with lots of information, amazing displays, and hands-on activities. I think my favorite part was the dwarf elephant – it was so sweet!
They also showed a video at the end of the exhibit about this amazing sanctuary in Kenya that is rescueing and rehabilitating orphaned elephants and it was very inspiring. There are amazing people in the world doing really wonderful things.

And then we, of course, had to venture into some of our tried and true exhibits. Sarah and Mark went down to the space exhibit and the rest of the kiddos and me looked at the wildlife halls. The amount of times I have taken Jacob’s picture in front of the polar bears – it’s a lot! But he loves them so much and asks every time. I love how much he loves them.

And then while I was helping Lydie in the car before we left for home, the kids found a special friend 😉
