After we explored the San Antonio Missions we headed into downtown San Antonio to see THE ALAMO. It was really interesting ENDING on this one because we had all of the previous ones to compare it to. It is definitely small, but, of course, the reason to go here is for the history, especially that of the Battle of the Alamo.
Jacob and I read a book about Davey Crocket last week in school and so it was fun for him (and us!) to especially focus on him and his role and where he was during this time. We talked a lot about their bravery and that even though they still died, they did something important for someone else. Our kiddos are stills so young, but I loved being able to have that discussion with Jacob today and I think BEING there in that space hopefully made that message sink in a little more.
