We love to celebrate! We had a fun, simple day celebrating St. Patrick’s Day at home.
To kick things off, we had our traditional St. Patrick’s Day breakfast: green waffles, buttermilk caramel syrup, sausage, and oranges. Delicious!
We had a slower paced morning and snuggled together and read our two favorite books for St. Patrick’s Day: Patrick: Patron Saint of Ireland by Tomie dePaola and Brother Sun, Sister Moon by Katherine Paterson. We then decided to do a fun art activity to celebrate the day.
This last year, we have loved doing tutorials from Let’s Make Art. They now have a great set of tutorials just for kids. We did the Rainbow Pot of Gold together and it was so much fun. Just what we needed to relax!

We spent the rest of the day doing our “normal” routine. That night we ended by having our St. Patrick’s Day feast: shepherd’s pie with Irish soda bread. And to top it all off – mint brownies!

We may only have a wee bit of Irish blood (I sit nicely at 8%, while Mark is at 10%) but we sure love to celebrate this fun Irish holiday!

Looks fun! I see Sarah has a permanent tooth on top.
She does! It’s been several years since she has had her two front teeth and they are both starting to come in! She is so excited!
