Seven Stars Alpaca Ranch

We woke up to a rainy day in Coeur d’Alene! But still oh so beautiful. Rain doesn’t deter us too much but it did let up eventually which was nice!

We took a lazy start to our morning {SO needed!} and took our time getting up and ready before we headed to our first stop of the day.

Our first stop was to Seven Stars Alpaca Ranch! Now, this felt kind of random, and it kind of was, but was also really great!

This couple, who is from Alaska, decided to retire down here in northern Idaho and start ranching. They wanted something different and became an alpaca ranch {but they have several other types of animals as well}. They now give daily tours of their ranch and animals and it was really interesting.

I would totally recommend this place but with a slight warning. The wife is pretty intense. We were the only family with children and at first we weren’t sure how it was going to go. She even told us that this was perhaps not a good place for us but we stuck it out and by the end our kids had won her over and she was very complementary of their behavior. So, I think it was great for kids, just know they need to be on their best behavior!

Their ranch was beautiful and other than their cat running around with a dead rat in their mouth, I was TOTALLY on board {I have big problems with the rodent family!}.

But in all seriousness, it was really interesting and beautiful and unique! And we had a great time there!
