Lydia had another research appointment down in Denver and so we decided to take the whole family down this time and make an outing out of it!
Lydia was a champ and did so well (as always). And our other kiddos are such troopers and have spent way too much of their young lives hanging around outside of children’s hospitals – but they were so patient during Lydia’s appointment.
Then we made our way to the Nature and Science Museum! There is a new traveling exhibit there right now called, Orcas: Our Shared Future. It was really beautifully done! We learned so much about orcas in general, but also how they have impacted us as humans. They are widely revered in the northwest Native American cultures and that was fascinating to learn the stories they have and how orcas are represented in their culture. It also touched on the impact orcas have had as they have been brought into captivity at times and what the future looks like for them.
Overall, we really enjoyed it!
Afterwards, we made our way to the human body exhibit (probably one of our kiddos’ favorites!) because Jacob and Sarah are learning about the human body in science and so it was a good excuse to play and learn in there for awhile.
Then we learned about some sneaky gnomes or elves (?) I am not sure exactly what they are – but they are hidden all around the museum and so, of course, we had to go on a search party. “Is it in the painting or is it real?I” Haha!
I love our Denver days together as a family.
