New {Old} Piano

Last month, my parents asked if we would be interested in one of their pianos. It was a very easy YES! For a wedding present, my parents gave us an electric piano and we have loved it. It has moved all over the mountain west with us and has brought us a lot of joy. I have so many sweet memories of Mark playing it late at night (one perk to it being electric was the volume control). I remember holding our babies on my lap as they pounded away on it. And then as they grew up, I have taught the older three kids how to play on it.

It feels a little bittersweet to say goodbye. But it is going to a wonderful new home with my sister and her family.

And we are adding a lot of new wonderful memories with our new piano. My parents bought a baby grand piano early on in their marriage and that is what I grew up playing on. But later on, they got this upright piano that had belonged to my grandparents. It was the piano my mom grew up learning how to play on. My Great-Grandma Marvel embroided the seat cushion as well, and so it has five generations of love into it.

I am so happy to see it continue to bless our family. We all love it so much and the history that comes with it.
