Being a mother is an incredibly humbling experience. In many ways, the longer I am a mother, the more I feel completely inadequate. I have spent a whole lot of time on my knees and in the car praying for these little people this year. They are my world. Being their mother is the most important work I will ever do. And even though I have a whole lot I need to learn still, I am so grateful for these little ones who trust me, forgive me, and love me for who I am today.
I am so grateful for wonderful women in my life. My mother is an example in all things. My mother in law is selfless and kind. And I am blessed with incredible daughters, grandmothers, aunts, and sisters. Sarah always tells me how hard it is to be a woman {she is not a fan of brushing her long hair!}. But there is power in who we are as women, and we can do great things with that.
I love this quote from Elder Andersen: “With intelligence and wisdom, [women] bear the burdens of your family. You love. You serve. You sacrifice. You strengthen faith, minister to those in need, and greatly contribute to society.”
I hope it was a wonderful Mother’s Day for all women who love, strengthen, serve, sacrifice, and make this world a much more beautiful place.
