Memorial Day

Memorial Day was quiet for our little family. Mark worked all weekend and so it was just me and the kiddos. We mostly just took it easy at home, and had a jammy/movie day on Saturday. The kids thoughts I was a rockstar and I was able to get some work done – WIN WIN!

On Monday night, we had a yummy dinner and restarted a tradition we have been neglecting the last couple years. During dinner, we spotlighted some of our ancestors and shared stories with our children. This year was my turn, and I decided to focus on my Grandpa and Grandma Moldenhauer.

It was wonderful to share stories and memories together. One thing that I have been really grateful for, especially the last month {since Grandma passed away} was how many memories I have of my grandparents. These memories range from big and small things, but they remind me of how much they loved their family, the importance of hard work, and faith.

I am grateful to live in our wonderful country. I am grateful for the countless men and women who have sacrificed to give us the freedoms we enjoy, and I hope, never take for granted. And I am grateful to have come from good people. Good people who strove to do what was right, raise families, and live “good”, simple lives.
