Our every day July moments β˜€

Summer Reading

Wowza has it been a hot summer! But the kiddos are still getting lots of time outside – Jacob, especially, loves to read outside in the afternoon.

Harry Potter

Jacob cruised through the fifth and sixth books this last month. Reward – movie night with Mom!

An Animal Wedding

We had an epic stuffy wedding. The heart made out of legos with a plastic arrow taped to it is definitely my favorite part πŸ˜‰ Or maybe the red construction paper flower petals. It’s too hard to pick!

Independence Day

We had a great Independence Day celebrating our country’s birthday. Read all about it HERE.

First Date

Mark and I went on our first date! Sort of. Because of the nature of our family dynamics, getting a babysitter has not been something that has worked out for us (generally). We’ve been blessed to have some family friends that have watched our kiddos for us a couple of times since we have lived here. But now Jacob is old enough that we feel comfortable leaving our kiddos for short periods of time. Our first date – Costco! Definitely not the most romantic of dates but it was practical and we got to spend time together just one-on-one. Excited for this new chapter for us ❀

Relief Society

I was released in my calling as Relief Society President in our ward family. I shared some of my thoughts HERE.

Clegg Family Reunion

Another Clegg Family Reunion is in the books! It was a wonderful week with some of our favorite people! Read all about it HERE.

Grace Cemetery

After our reunion, we made a day of stops. Our first stop was to the Grace Cemetery. I wrote more about our stops HERE.

Grandma Dixie

Our next stop was to visit my Grandma Dixie. I am so grateful for the time we were able to spend with her. More about it HERE.

Georgetown

We then visited Mark’s family home growing up in Georgetown. More about it HERE.

Old Friends

Then we stopped at another cemetery to visit the gravesite of one of Mark’s good childhood friends who passed last year. More about it HERE.

Montpelier Temple

Last of our stops was to see the construction of the Montpelier Temple. We are so very excited for this temple and can’t wait to come back when it is finished! More about it HERE.

Weekend with the Bernings

Then we finally made our way to the Bernings in North Ogden. We are so grateful for that weekend we were able to spend with them. More about our weekend HERE.

Anxiously Engaged

While we were on our trip, I finished a biography of President M. Russell Ballard, called Anxiously Engaged. I loved this book so much. I was so inspired and encouraged. I will probably write a lot more about this later, but I will leave his testimony here:

“It is the will of our Father in Heaven, through His Beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, that this mighty work moves forward. This is His gospel. He stands at the head – holy, divine, supreme, full of power, majesty, grace, and truth. He lived for us, and He died for us, because He loves us. I love Him more deeply and powerfully than I can find words to express. He is my Lord, my Savior, my Redeemer, and my friend. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God our Eternal Father. He lives and directs His Church today through His prophet and His Apostles. His great work will continue to roll forth until it fills the whole earth.”

Aquarium

Then we went down and spent a couple das with my parents in Draper. A highlight was definitel going to the Loveland Aquarium. Read all about it HERE.

Draper Temple

Jacob also had the sweet experience of going to the Draper Temple with his Gramps and Grammy. Read all about it HERE.

Farmers Market

After about a week and a half we made our way back home and went to our first farmers market to get some apricots and cherries. We loved it!

Deacons Quorum

Jacob was set apart as the first counselor in the deacons quorum in our ward. More about it HERE.

Apricots & Cherries

I canned some apricot jam for the first time! I love apricot jam and so that was a fun addition to add to our family storage. I also canned some Danish cherry sauce again and can’t wait to enjoy that for the next year.

Fort Kid Hall

Sarah and Ben made an INTENSE fort that went from Sarah’s room, down the hall, and into Ben’s room. They loved it! I love their plans πŸ˜‰

High Adventure Camp

Then Jacob and Mark were able to go to the high adventure camp! More about it HERE.
