Our every day December moments 🎄

Braces – DONE!

After three years this boy is DONE with braces! He looks so handsome and grown up and I am so happy for him!

Snow

It has been the most mild December I can remember of my life! We should have appreciated this snowfall at the beginning of the month more!

Nativity Boxes

I’ve been a part of a Christmas ornament exchange for a couple of years here. This year the theme was the nativity and I had to come up with a storage idea for the ornaments. It was a little tricky but I am happy with how they turned out.

Benjamin’s 9th Birthday

We loved celebrating our boy. Read all about it HERE.

Seizures

Lydie got up one Sunday morning and when I went to see her I knew something was off. She ended up having seizures all day long. Mark and I tagged team the day with our Church responsibilities but it was hard to see our little girl this way. We wish we knew why they happen. But are also just grateful they only happen every couple of months usually.

Sunrises

We have had the most beautiful sunrises lately. The colors are incredible and it makes me grateful for my early mornings.

Winter Watercolor

It has been a LONG time since I have taken out my watercolors but it was even more fun to watercolor together as a family. Everyone loved this night and we definitely need to do it more.

Christmas Chains

What would Christmas be without a Christmas chain?

Gingerbread Houses

It was fun to be simple and make gingerbread houses out of graham crackers. Everyone had a blast with this.

Winter Walks

For Ben’s “punch” for school, he chose to go on a walk with me. This was such a gift that I needed on this day. It was the most perfect afternoon together.

Christmas Baking

So much time spent in the kitchen this month and I loved all the goodies that we made!

Christmas Sleepovers

Ben requested to sleep under the tree nearly every night this month! It was magical.

Floral Watercolors

Sarah and I got a floral watercolor workbook a couple years ago and we definitely go through phases with it. But we tackled a couple of projects this month and it was so fun to do together.

Christmas Piano Recital

The kids did a wonderful job on their Christmas piano recital. Jacob played O Holy Night, Sarah played Joy to the World, and Benjamin played Jolly Old Saint Nicholas.

Christmas Movie Marathon

One of our bucket list items was to have a movie marathon. Jacob picked to watch The Santa Clause movies and it was a fun, lazy afternoon!

Gingerbread Puzzle

I even did a puzzle this month! This was a tricky, but fun one for me!

Pretend Fireplace

Our “pretend fireplace” was on almost all the time this month and we all loved the crackling ambiance.

Gingerbread Playdough

I feel like I used to make playdough all the time but it has been a while! I found this fun gingerbread playdough recipe and it smelled fantastic. The kids all surprisingly really loved it and played with it for days!

Christmas Sunday

This was the beginning of our health stuggles, but Jacob was a trooper and got dressed so I could see all the kids in their Christmas Sunday outfits.

First Day of Winter

As always, we love the changing of the seasons. We are all ready for some slow, peaceful winter living.

Zootopia 2

We made our way to the movie theater and it was such a treat. We saw Zootopia 2 and we all loved it! Definitely one of the best new movies we have seen in a while!

Christmas

Our Christmas didn’t quite go as we had hoped. Read all about it HERE.

President Jeffrey R. Holland

We were so sad to hear of the passing of President Jeffrey R. Holland. Read all about it HERE.

New Years Eve

We had a great New Years Eve. We also did something new and I made an “accomplishment cake”. I don’t really like the name and want to come up with a new one, but I do love the idea of looking back at all the good that did happen this last year and the positive changes that we have made. Sarah made us a fun banner!
