Our every day August moments 🍉

Painting Furniture

We are finally finishing up Jacob’s room and it is coming together so well! One thing I wanted to do was sand down and paint some of his existing furniture to give it a fresh new look. Redoing furniture is not my favorite BUT we do really love how it turned out!

Sunflowers

We have a whole lot of sunflowers growing in the field across from our house and Ben brought me this little bouquet. He is the sweetest.

An Ode to the Eaton Ward

At the beginning of the month, our Eaton Ward was dissolved and everyone was divided between three other wards. Read all about it HERE.

Dos Rios Branch

Maybe you can say our ward was divided into four – because Mark was called to serve in the branch presidency in the Spanish branch in our stake. Read all about it HERE.

County Fair

Summer Bucket List ✔️ One of our favorite summer traditions the last couple of years has been going to the Larimer County Fair. It was another great year but OH SO HOT. Lydie and I spent most of the time finding whatever corner of shade we could, with me fanning and misting her. The real star of the show this year was 4H! The kids were absolutely obsessed with all of the projects. And the kids’ desire for animals grew ten fold (which I didn’t think was possible). The kids wanted a picture with EVERY champion animal – and then just all the others that they thought were cute. It became a full blown photo shoot – that you now get to enjoy! 😉 We ended the night with some corn dogs and dole whips!

Grandma’s 85th Birthday

We were so happy that we could travel to Idaho for my Grandma’s 85th Birthday. We love her so much. Read all about it HERE.

Apple Harvest

Our two apple trees continue to do so well! But we still have yet to figure out how to keep the birds and wasps out of the apples. We had a pretty good harvest though – enough to make a homemade apple pie!

Braces

This little cutie finally got her braces on! Read all about it HERE.

Jurassic Oceans

We took a trip down to the Denver Nature and Science Museum to see their Jurassic Oceans exhibit. The kids have been excited for this exhibit for MONTHS! The kids are all really into dinosaurs and so this was right up their alley. We loved how they had each animal’s “Fierce Score”.

Camp de Vida

We had our second Camp de Vida and it was so fun. Read all about it HERE.

Edward Jack Moldenhauer & Elizabeth Louise Roberts

I finished a big project that I have been working on – a book about my Great Grandparents on my Moldenhauer side. Read all about it HERE.

Bluey is Missing

Disaster arose when Lydie could not find her Bluey stuffed animal. Ben was right on it with “Lost” posters.

Mark’s 43rd Birthday

We loved celebrating our favorite man. Read all about it HERE.

Hamburger Buns

I have always been a make food from scratch kind of gal. But I have really been trying to up my game lately and oh boy has it been yummy. This month I have been making lots more homemade snacks for the kids and I tried making homemade hamburger buns and hoagies and let me just say – it will be super hard to ever go back to grocery story. They were delicious. And it makes me really happy. Win-Win

American Flag

And after many years of talking about it, we finally got an American flag for our home. And it makes me happy. Simply joys.
