Life

Jacob Scott

Time for a Jacob Appreciation Post!

We are on the doorstep of a completely new chapter in Jacob’s young life and I am so excited for it! He is growing up and it is such a beautiful thing to see. I have been reflecting extra on Jacob lately. In the next couple weeks, Jacob will be ordained a deacon in the Aaronic priesthood, he will be able to go into a dedicated house of the Lord and perform eternal work for our family, and he will be numbered with a group of young men that I have a tremendous amount of respect for. It is a mother’s dream and I am so happy for him.

Jacob is so helpful to me. He asks me several times a day, every day, if there is anything he can do to help me. I am grateful for how attentive he is to me and helping our family. He is a wonderful son and I am so proud of the man he is becoming.

He is a dedicated student. Jacob loves to learn. He is very self motivated to get his studies done every day. And then when he is finished – he loves to read and learn more on his own! For Christmas, his most desired gift was a new Smithsonian encyclopedia. He amazes me.

Jacob continues to be incredibly creative. He continues to enjoy painting and other arts and crafts. But this year he has also become an amazing writer. Writing used to be Jacob’s least favorite subject and it has made my heart so happy to see this become a strength for him. He comes up with the most creative stories and is very detailed in the new worlds and characters that he creates.

Another thing that I love about Jacob, is that he is willing to push himself in new ways. This is something that he could really resist, and I know how uncomfortable it is for him, but he tries and tries again, and that may just be my favorite quality of Jacob. He is a trier. Whether that is in a new skill or in his relationships with others, he really does try to be his very best.

We love you, Jacob. You are an amazing person that makes our family and the world a better place.
