We left Omaha and began the drive home.
We were all ready to get home but we were also very ready to pick our next state for 2026 (that feels absolutely crazy to write down). We love this tradition so much. Here is how the drawing went:
Mark = Missouri
Elise = Arkansas
Jacob = Oregon
Sarah = Tennessee
Benjamin = Hawaii
Lydia = Delaware
Ben was SO EXCITED for his Hawaii pick. And it was a little crazy because right before he drew he said he was really hoping for Hawaii. And then he picked it! If I hadn’t done it myself, I would have thought some mischief had been going on!
There is always an opportunity for a veto and Mark decided to veto his draw of Missouri. It made sense. Even though this trip wasn’t “technically” our Missouri trip, we spent a lot of time there and wanted someplace new for next year. So Missouri went back into the hat and Mark drew NEW YORK.
The final draw went to…
ARKANSAS!
We are really excited to visit Arkansas. We drove through part of it on the way home from our Mississippi trip last year and it was beautiful. Hot Springs here we come!
