We had such a fun Halloween! In the days leading up to it, we did our pumpkins. This year, some of us decided to paint them and it became my new favorite! I am much more a painter than a sculptor. It was fun to do something new and I love to see everyone’s unique ideas.

Our Halloween day was filled with fun and a little sickness. Lydia did not sleep great the night before and just seemed off. She was very tired and mostly just wanted to snuggle. She seemed like she might be doing better after she had a nap so we got her dressed in her costume but she quickly declined (you can tell by the final group picture). So we got her back in her jammies and snuggled the rest of the night. By the time she was going to bed, she had a fever. Poor little thing.
The rest of us had all of our traditional meals that we love. We read our favorite Halloween books in the morning. And then we tried something new and I made some brownies and we decorated some “haunted houses”. The kids loved that and it was so simple and easier than doing gingerbread houses.

The girls decided to do costumes together again this year. We have some big Wicked fans in the house and so Sarah decided to be Glinda and Lydie was Elphaba. Then Ben decided to be Luigi!

I think I liked Ben and Mark’s carved pumpkins the best. The costumes were great. Loved the decorated brownies.
