Easter Festivities

This Easter was simple. And I actually really loved it.

Saturday morning, the kids woke up to their simple Easter baskets. To be honest, I completely forgot about them! Friday I was doing my grocery shopping and realized that I had nothing to put in them, grabbed each kiddos a chocolate bunny, a coloring book, and some new sandals {for when it decides to stop snowing!}.

The kids thought it was awesome and that’s all that matters. Lydia, may or may not have had, only a package of puffs and a new headband. She’s okay.

We had a lazy breakfast and then Mark set up an Easter egg hunt downstairs for the kids. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying time together without any agenda. That afternoon the kiddos dyed and decorated some Easter eggs.

It was simple and wonderful.

Sunday we woke up and had a nice family breakfast. One thing I DID do was get the kids new Easter outfits. They looked adorable. I finally have two girls to go matchy-matchy with and I couldn’t resist!

It was beautiful having Sacrament Meeting in our home. I really love it. The kids have been alternating giving talks, sharing a scripture, and saying an article of faith. It’s amazing.

Jacob gave a really great talk about why we celebrate Easter. He even wove in his thoughts about Grandma passing away and how one day she will be resurrected because Jesus was resurrected. It was a special moment.

I am so grateful for my family. I do not mean to be insensitive to all of the hardships so many are experiencing in the world, but I have loved the opportunity we’ve had to slow down and focus on what really matters. And I am grateful for a loving Savior, who saw my face and the face of every other person that has lived or will live on this earth. He loves us. He wants to help us. He lives!

Wonderful pictures!! So much fun to have 2 of each and do the matching thing. Adorable outfits for the girls.

    Sometimes simple is the best.
My neighbor who is in the bishopric, that is his mantra “Keep in Simple.” And i keep that message on my frig. it’s a good reminder.

That is sweet that Jacob made the connection of the resurrection
    LOVE to all. Grandma

I love that motto of “Keep it Simple”. I’ve always tried to live that but I am seeing more and more how the daily simple things we do can add up to big things. I may have to add it my fridge too though – just in case 😉
