Life

Eagle Way

Saying goodbye to our home…it’s hard.  We came into this home pretty broken.  It maybe sounds crazy to some, but we were shattered when we had to leave Garden City and move to Rock Springs.  Have you ever had a dream that you never really thought would happen?  And then IT DOES!  And then it gets ripped away from you.  That was us.  We so badly wanted to raise our family in that beautiful place, filled with wonderful people.

So this home in Wyoming because our place to rebuild.  To make new dreams.  To become stronger as a family – stronger than we had ever been before.

I will miss looking out and seeing the beautiful Wyoming sunsets.  I will miss the moments that happened in those rooms, like bringing Lydia home from the hospital and meeting her siblings for the first time.  I will miss the walks along the dusty paths behind our home.

I am grateful for this place.  I am grateful for the love that existed here.  I am grateful for the lessons we learned and the growth that we experienced.

Some things that I loved about our home: I loved our front yard.  Mark will probably be surprised to hear that!  I am not a fan of xeriscape, but I think we created something beautiful, which was pretty great considering we had never put in a yard before.  I loved not having any neighbors behind us.  I loved our happy blue walls.  I loved our hardware.  I have never liked the hardware in any of our homes – this home was the exception.  And maybe my favorite thing, and possibly strangest, I loved our moldings.  I love big chunky craftsman moldings.  I will miss those, too.

There was a lot of life that we experienced in these walls.  We will miss you Eagle Way.

Lots of tender memories. Lydia’s Rett and Jacob’s autism diagnoses. Blessings such as the medical professionals who walked with you and helped during that time. Mark’s hospital pharmacy career started. Jacob’s baptism and confirmation. All of that happened within the walls of your Eagle Way home and Rock Springs. And who can forget the sod laying party. A huge backyard lawn put in in one day. And much more.

A transformational chapter in your family journey.

There really was A LOT that happened in three years there. “Transformational” is a good word! And who could forget the sod laying party – we beat that storm!

I love this recap! How sweet. My favorite thing about these pictures is all the books. So many books! I love that!! Cut home Elise. You’re a good home maker.

We do have A LOT of books! I think everyone that helped us move was secretly cursing my name with all of our book boxes 😬! But we love them. Thank you for your sweet compliment.
