Life, Travel

Disneyland

Disneyland truly is just magical. There is something about walking out onto Main Street that just makes you feel like everything is right in the world.

City Hall

Our first stop when we entered the park was to City Hall. One extra thing I needed to do was some research on the disability services that Disneyland offered. Our experience was really positive. They were really helpful in explaining how things worked. We were given a map with instructions about how to enter various attractions, about restrooms and other services, etc.

We were also give a special tag on Lydia’s stroller so that we could use her stroller as a wheelchair. This was a huge blessing to our family.

Fantasyland

Fantasyland is magical. Seeing the castle just brings all sorts of good, happy feelings. I loved experiencing it with our family. There were so many highlights in this beautiful land. This day we experienced:

  • Pinocchio’s Daring Journey
  • Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough
  • King Arthur Carousel
  • Casey Jr. Circus Train
  • Dumbo the Flying Elephant
  • Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Matterhorn Bobsleds

moments to remember

Alice in Wonderland. This was easily one of my favorite moments of the whole trip. We were going through the ride and Lydia was sitting on my lap and just so calm. Her hands were still and she was just holding them in her lap – which is a big thing for her. And as soon as we came out into the sun, Lydia ERUPTED in giggles! I just wanted to go around and around. She loved it and her giggles would not stop. It was perfection.

Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough. Sarah’s favorite princess is Aurora and she loved walking through the castle. She loved it so much that she did is twice in a row!

Casey Jr. Circus Train. Lydia loving life. Everyone else loving watching her.

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. First ride we went on. Rookie mistake. Ben terrified for the next several hours of the day.

Peter Pan’s Flight. Redeemed Fantasyland for Ben. Loved by all of us.

Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland was definitely a favorite for the kiddos. This day we experienced:

  • Autopia
  • Space Mountain
  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
  • Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

MOMENTS TO REMEMBER

Autopia. This was DEFINITELY a favorite for the kids! I was surprised HOW MUCH they loved it! Jacob loved riding in the car all on his own. He kept wanting to go over and over to get better and better. Sarah said, “Why do they trust me to drive a car?” I don’t know, sis, I don’t know.

Space Mountain. Shocked that Benjamin agreed to go. Even more shocked that he LIKED it. Mr. Toad too crazy…but not Space Mountain? Go figure. But we’ll take it!

Star Tours. An immediate favorite with the kids. Benjamin was the rebel spy – it fits!

Mickey’s Toontown

Toontown is one of those places that is fun to walk through but not a place I really feel like we need to linger. But it was fun to see where Mickey and Minnie live, along with Donald and Goofy. In Toon Town, we experienced:

  • Disneyland Railroad
  • Gadget’s Go Coaster

Food

Luckily for us, our hotel served breakfast every morning. We told the kiddos we would do lunch, dinner, and a treat each day. Basically we ate and played and ate and played.

Lunch was corn dogs! Today Jacob tried cotton candy for the first time and Sarah, Benjamin, Mark and I had some ice cream. And for dinner, we ate at Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland. It was themed from the Gaston’s taverne in Beauty and the Beast and so it was a HIT for me! I loved all of the little details + the hamburgers were amazing!

moment to remember

Ice Cream. While we were waiting in line to get some ice cream, we were asking the kiddos what flavor they wanted. Ben said he wanted “chocolate”. A lady in front of us asked if we were from New York because that is EXACTLY how they say it there. We had a good laugh! Wyoming is probably about as far from New York as you can get.

Daddy Time

Lydia was asleep most of dinner and she was a tired little lady even when she woke up. So Mark took Jacob and Sarah to ride Autopia and Star Tours again, while I walked back to the hotel with Benjamin and Lydia. I was so happy they were able to have that special time together.
