County Fair

Lydia’s therapy has an incredible arrangement with our county fair to give two hours to families who need a little bit of help with sensory overload. For two hours, the fair is open to them (FREE!) where the sounds and lights are turned off on all of the rides. They had face painting, bounce houses, and a whole list of other entertainment ready for these families. And we were so grateful to be counted with them.

This was such a tender family experience and one that we probably wouldn’t have had if it had not been for this situation. Lydia has been getting more and more anxious lately and so these situations can really put her into overdrive. But we had a couple hours of fun! The weather was even incredible with clouds and cooler temps which made things a lot more comfortable for our little girl. She got to see all of her sweet therapists in a fun environment and the kids had a blast riding all of the rides (even some that I wish they hadn’t!). It truly was such an incredible experience for all of our kids – to see that there are families like ours – and just be totally accepted.

Once we were done with the rides, we walked over and looked at the 4H projects (Sarah really wants to join now!) and then looked at the animals. The kids fell in love with the pigs.

We are so grateful for Integrated and all that they do for our sweet kiddos in the community.
