Camp de Vida: Day 3

Day Three was another success!

Morning Devotional

The kids were WIPED OUT! Everyone slept in and we just rolled with it. The last kiddo didn’t get up until 9:30. But Lydia was up and going and had her horse therapy. Then we gathered together and did another morning devotional.

Sport Practice

Mark and the three bigs went to the park and played some games together. Lydie and I went to run a special errand and then we met them there afterward.

Bleeding and Poisoning

Mark taught the kids how to give first aid for excessive bleeding. Then we discussed what to do for poisoning.

Cravat Bandage

Next up was learning how to do a simple cravat bandage. This went along great with our discussion about bleeding.

Thank You Cards

The kids decorated and wrote some thank you cards to send now and some to save for later.

Financial Peace

I got Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace for Kids. I don’t think I would recommend it. It was way overpriced and even though it gives some good talking points, I feel like we could have probably come up with a similar thing on our own.

With that said, today we talked about the importance of savings and the difference between wants and needs.

Service Project

One of the things I was most looking forward during our camp was our service project. A couple of weeks ago, Lydia and I were down at our local children’s hospital getting some blood work done and I asked them what would be the most helpful way we could do some service. They immediately responded with blankets!

So I got some flannel for the boys and for the girls to each make a blanket to give to the hospital. They really loved this and Sarah is already begging to do more!

Tin Foil Dinners and Backyard Camping

We ended the day with tin foil dinners and camping in the backyard! The kids were THRILLED! The dinner may not look very good – but it was tasty!
