⭐ Benjamin Appreciation Post ⭐
The last several months, Mark and Ben have loved reading together at night. They have read all sorts of long books (Jurassic Park, The Hobbit, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc). It is sweet to see Ben sketching in his bed while Mark reads to him from the chair.
Ben is an architect and inventor. Ben amazes me with what he creates. He has a collection of rope, cardboard, tape, and scissors and he comes up with all sorts of things and “systems”. He also designs amazing and intricate plans. While we were studying about ancient Egypt a couple months, he was inspired by the ancient Pharoahs and designed his own pyramid with different routes and traps along the way. His most recent designs have been for his dream farm and the giant garden he plans to plant (mostly pumpkins, peas, and corn – Lydie’s favorites – he says she gets first pick).
Ben is a helper. He loves to be in on all the things. He’s learning how to mow the lawn, do his laundry from start to finish, and cook and bake in the kitchen. But more than the skills, I am just so happy with his desire to be helpful.
Boundless energy. This kid never stops moving. He likes to be busy and has such a diversity of interests that it isn’t too hard for him to find something to do at all times.
I feel like Ben makes everyone feel like they are his favorite. He just loves people. I am amazed at his confidence to interact with everyone.
I love this boy.
