Baby Animals Days

One of our spring bucket list items was to visit some baby animals and we DID IT! Mark was all about the pigs – who may or may not tried to eat Lydia’s wheelchair through the fence. The kids were all obsessed with “Bunny” the rabbit. Ben thought the goats were hilarious as they tried to eat anything and everything they could. And Jacob and Sarah could not get over how soft the baby lambs were. And I decided that turkeys totally creep me out!

We went to a historical farm to see the baby animals and so we wandered around the various parts and found an unexpected little gem. I’ve been researching and learning more about my Moldenhauer line and this was exactly their situation. They were Germans in Russia who left in the early 1900s for America. My family immigrated to North Dakota initially, but it seems there was a group that also made it’s way to our area in Colorado. It was so fun to have that personal family connection.

And the kids immediately told me I needed to send this picture to Grammy. She would not have liked this situation!

It was a perfect spring afternoon at the farm!
