Another fun day at the Denver Nature and Science Museum. Geez, we love this place. It hit me this day as we were walking around one of the exhibits we’ve walked a dozen times, just how beautiful our life has been (and continues to be). I remembered going here once when Mark was in school, probably thirteen years ago, walking those same exhibits. And here we are today, with our four amazing kids, walking those same halls. Life is really good.
We came down to Denver to experience the Animals Of The Rainforest exhibit and it was lots of fun. It felt a little like going to the reptile house at the zoo, but on a smaller scale, but we still loved it. These kids love their animals! And Ben wanted his picture with all of the animals!
This was the first time (that I can remember at least) that there have been live animals at the museum. They had a sloth, lots of reptiles, and some amphibians. We came when it was lunch time for the animals so they were all a little more active than usual which was fun! I think our favorite was the albino green iguana, he put on quite a show with his long tongue.
And Ben continues his ability to be a snake whisperer. I can’t remember what type of snake it was, but it followed Ben everywhere he went around his enclosure. Ben thinks it is so cool but it gives me the chills! I am not convinced that snakes everywhere don’t want to eat Ben! I don’t think our family will ever forget when we were at the zoo once and the snake was staring intently at Ben through the glass and then attacked the glass right in front of Ben’s face. It was terrifying.
We loved learning about all of the diversity in the rainforest!
