A Great Work

“Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great. Behold, the Lord requireth the heart and a willing mind.”

Doctrine & Covenants 64:33

A couple weeks ago, Jacob, Sarah, and Benjamin were able to participate in our ward’s annual Primary Program. This is one of the best Sundays! I was so proud of them for being brave and sharing their testimonies through word and song.

"The Doctrine and Covenants are words and revelations that are given to us through the Prophet Joseph Smith."

"I know all of us are important to Heavenly Father and Jesus." 
 - Benjamin -

"Be of good cheer, for I will lead you along."

"My favorite thing that I have learned from studying the Doctrine and Covenants is people doing what is right, even when it is hard.  For example, the sacrifices people made in order to build a temple."

One of our favorite songs that we learned this year in Primary is called, “My Own Sacred Grove.” I love the words:

"Joseph Smith went to a grove full of trees
Seeing God's wisdom, he fell to his knees
As he pled with the heavens, the sky filled with light
And the Father appeared with His Song Jesus Christ
Standing above in the air
Coming to answer his prayer.

I will find my own sacred grove
Away from all of the noise of the world
I will turn to prayer
For I know He's there

So many choices with so much at stake
Life's full of pathways, but which should I take?
If I lift up in prayer in the name of the Son
Through the power of the Holy Ghost, answers will come
Heavenly Father is there
Ready to answer my prayer.

Sometimes the answers take time

I am so grateful for the Primary Program. I am grateful for the simple, beautiful doctrine that is taught. I am grateful that it is a place for our children to feel the Spirit with members of our ward.
