At the end of February, Mark and I celebrated our twelfth anniversary! Our anniversary fell on a Sunday + a Sunday where Mark was in the middle of his night shifts which = essentially no time in the same room, let alone a solid conversation with one another. We have entered a very busy stage of life – and while I miss the slower pace we have always tried to create for our family – I am trying to embrace this new season we are entering as well.
Luckily, we have some of the greatest friends who asked to take the kids for us the following Saturday morning. Mark and I went out for breakfast and then went to Home Depot for supplies for some home projects we have in the mix. If that doesn’t scream twelfth anniversary – I don’t know what does 😉
But in all seriousness, I am so grateful for Mark. He is endlessly patient with me. He supports me and encourages me. And I hope I do the same for him. I love our life together. This year I have seen and experienced things that have made me appreciate him even more. I am so blessed to have him as my forever. Happy twelve years – and forever more to come.
